Musk’s Trump Alliance Backfires, Slashing Tesla’s Brand Value

Tesla’s brand has suffered a massive blow due to Elon Musk’s close association with the Trump administration and his leadership of the “Doge” department, according to marketing professor Scott Galloway. Galloway, on the Pivot podcast, highlighted how Musk’s political pivot alienated Tesla’s core audience while appealing to a base disinterested in EVs. The result: Tesla’s brand ranking has tumbled, and European sales have sharply declined. Musk’s involvement in European politics via X has only worsened public sentiment. Amid a 71% profit drop, Musk announced he’ll reduce his Doge duties, claiming his main objectives are complete.
