‘Wake Up Dead Man’: A Moral Maze for Benoit Blanc

Date:

Benoit Blanc is about to enter a moral maze. The first teaser for Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery sets up a crime that is not just a logistical puzzle, but a complex ethical dilemma for the detective and the audience.
The murder of a priest (Josh Brolin) in a church is an act that immediately raises questions of good, evil, and the nature of justice. Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc must navigate this maze, where the killer may have had a morally complex reason for their actions, and the victim may not be as innocent as he appears.
The cast, including Glenn Close, Kerry Washington, and Mila Kunis, will represent different paths in this moral maze, forcing Blanc to make difficult judgments about their characters. His new, more serious look suggests a detective who is grappling with the weighty philosophical questions of the case.
After its premiere at TIFF, audiences can enter the maze for themselves. Wake Up Dead Man will challenge viewers in select theaters from November 26th before its global streaming launch on Netflix on December 12th.
